First I’d like to thank Penguin Teen (or Penguin Young Readers) for sending me a review copy and allowing me to be apart of the blog tour for THE STRANGE FASCINATIONS OF NOAH HYPNOTIK! I’ve already posted a review for the book that you can find here! and for this blog tour I created a music playlist!
The playlist is on Google Music, but I’ll list all of the songs on this post. Each song on the list will be a link to the playlist, so you can just tap them to hear the song! Thank you again to Penguin, and I hope you all love this playlist!
PLAYLIST
- Everything in its Right Place by Radiohead
- Madness by Muse
- Daydreaming by Radiohead
- Space Oddity by David Bowie
- Across the Universe by The Beatles
- Twin Size Mattress by The Front Bottoms
- Never Saw It Coming by Tigers Jaw
- Escape Plan by Tigers Jaw
- In Bloom by Neck Deep
- Swimming Pool by The Front Bottoms
- Gold Steps by Neck Deep
- Wait you know who Frankie Muniz is right? by Panucci’s Pizza
- Modern Love by David Bowie
- Changes by David Bowie
This book gave me very angsty-teen vibes, so most of them are alternative/pop punk songs about finding your way in life, friends, being young, etc. I really hope you all like it! In my opinion, it really captures the feeling of the book, and even has songs that are mentioned throughout the book! I’d highly recommend listening to this while reading the book, which I would also recommend! This book was unique and refreshingly modern compared to anything else I’ve ever read.
Head on over to my Instagram @theradiantreader to see my creative photo for the blog tour! 🙂
ABOUT THE BOOK
The New York Times bestselling author of Kids of Appetite and Mosquitoland brings a speculative twist to his latest novel. The result: an incisive and deeply humane story with the feel of Haruki Murakami for teens.
“An epic wonder”* from the bestselling author of Mosquitoland
This is Noah Oakman → sixteen, Bowie believer, concise historian, disillusioned swimmer, son, brother, friend.
Then Noah → gets hypnotized.
Now Noah → sees changes–inexplicable scars, odd behaviors, rewritten histories–in all those around him. All except his Strange Fascinations . . .
A stunning surrealist portrait, The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik is a story about all the ways we hurt our friends without knowing it, and all the ways they stick around to save us.
